What This Policy Covers

This privacy policy explains how Helton Labs LLC ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with the Evergreen personal CRM application ("Evergreen" or "the App"). This policy applies to the Evergreen macOS application available through the Mac App Store.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Evergreen is designed with a privacy-first architecture. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Contact Information - Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personal details you enter
• Notes and Interactions - Meeting notes, conversation logs, or interaction history
• Usage Analytics - How you use the app, which features you access, or frequency of use
• Device Information - Hardware details, operating system version, or device identifiers
• Location Data - Your physical location or IP address
• Search Queries - What you search for within your contacts
• AI Interactions - Conversations or commands sent to AI assistants through MCP integration
• Sync Metadata - We don't see or access any data synced through iCloud

How Your Data Is Stored

Local-First Storage with Optional iCloud Sync

Your contact data is stored locally on your device with optional iCloud sync powered by CloudKit:

• Local Storage - Data cached locally on each device for offline access
• iCloud Sync - Optional CloudKit sync using your personal iCloud account
• End-to-End Encryption - Data encrypted in transit and at rest in iCloud
• User Control - Toggle sync on/off anytime, export data as SQLite
• No Vendor Servers - We never see or have access to your data
• Apple Privacy - Sync handled by Apple's CloudKit with their privacy guarantees

Network Communication

Evergreen only communicates over the network for:

• iCloud Sync (Optional) - CloudKit sync when enabled in preferences
• App Store Updates - Updates delivered through Mac App Store

Evergreen never makes network requests for:

• Analytics or telemetry
• Usage tracking or reporting
• Data collection to our servers
• Marketing or advertising purposes

AI Integration and Data Access

Model Context Protocol (MCP)

Evergreen includes an optional MCP server that allows AI assistants (like Claude Desktop) to interact with your contacts database. This integration:

• Runs Locally - The MCP server operates entirely on your Mac
• Requires Explicit Setup - You must manually configure AI assistants to access your data
• Provides Full Control - You can disable or remove AI access at any time
• Logs All Changes - Every AI modification is recorded with attribution

What AI Assistants Can Access

When you configure an AI assistant with MCP access, it can:

• Read your contact information
• Create new contacts
• Update existing contact details
• Log interactions and meetings
• Search and filter your contacts

Important: AI assistants process your data according to their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of any AI services you choose to integrate with Evergreen.

Mac App Store Integration

App Store Transactions

When you purchase or subscribe to Evergreen through the Mac App Store:

• Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple
• We receive only anonymized transaction data from Apple
• We cannot connect your App Store purchase to your usage of Evergreen
• Apple's privacy policy governs the collection and use of your payment information

Subscription Management

Your $1.99/month subscription is managed through your Apple ID:

• Billing and payment are handled by Apple
• You can cancel or modify your subscription through System Settings
• We do not have access to your payment methods or billing information

Data Security

Multi-Layer Protection

Your contact data is protected by:

• macOS Security - Apple's built-in file system encryption and access controls
• App Sandboxing - Evergreen runs in a secure sandbox environment
• CloudKit Encryption - End-to-end encryption for synced data
• iCloud Security - Protected by your Apple ID and two-factor authentication
• Local Encryption - FileVault disk encryption when enabled

Privacy-Focused Sync

When using iCloud sync:

• Your iCloud, Your Control - Data stored in your personal iCloud account
• Apple's Privacy Standards - Protected by Apple's industry-leading security
• No Vendor Access - We cannot see or access your synced data
• Opt-in Only - Sync is completely optional and can be disabled anytime
• Export Freedom - Export your data as SQLite file anytime

Your Rights and Control

Complete Data Ownership

You have absolute control over your data:

• Access - View all your data at any time within the app
• Export - Export your contacts in standard formats
• Backup - Copy your database file for backup purposes
• Deletion - Delete individual contacts or your entire database
• Portability - Move your data to other applications

Uninstalling Evergreen

If you choose to uninstall Evergreen:

• Your contact database will remain on your Mac unless you manually delete it
• No data will be retained on any external servers
• You can reinstall the app and continue using your existing data

Third-Party Services

No Third-Party Integrations

Evergreen does not integrate with or share data with any third-party services, including:

• Analytics services
• Crash reporting tools
• Marketing platforms
• Social media networks
• Cloud storage services

AI Assistant Privacy

If you choose to configure AI assistants to access your Evergreen data, their privacy policies apply to how they handle your information. We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of:

• Claude (Anthropic)
• ChatGPT (OpenAI)
• Any other AI services you connect

Children's Privacy

Evergreen is not directed toward children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect any personal information, this policy is inherently protective of all users, including minors.

International Users

Evergreen's privacy-first design means that data protection regulations are inherently satisfied:

• GDPR Compliance - No personal data is processed by us
• CCPA Compliance - No personal information is collected or sold
• Data Location - When using iCloud sync, data location follows Apple's iCloud policies
• Export Rights - Full data export available anytime as SQLite
• Deletion Rights - Complete control to delete all data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be:

• Posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date
• Made available within the Evergreen application
• Communicated through App Store update notes if material changes occur
