What This Policy Covers

This privacy policy explains how Helton Labs LLC ("we," "our," or "us") handles information in connection with the Evergreen personal CRM application ("Evergreen" or "the App"). This policy applies to the Evergreen macOS application available through the Mac App Store.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Evergreen is designed with a privacy-first architecture. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Contact Information — Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personal details you enter
• Notes and Interactions — Meeting notes, conversation logs, or interaction history
• Usage Analytics — How you use the app, which features you access, or frequency of use
• Device Information — Hardware details, operating system version, or device identifiers
• Location Data — Your physical location or IP address
• Search Queries — What you search for within your contacts
• AI Interactions — Conversations or commands sent to AI assistants through MCP integration

How Your Data Is Stored

By default, your contact data is stored on your device:

• On-Device Database — All data is stored in a local database on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad
• Local by Default — With sync turned off, your data never leaves your device
• Full Control — Export your complete data anytime
• No Vendor Servers — We operate no servers and never see or access your data

Evergreen offers an optional feature, Evergreen Sync, that keeps your data up to date across your own Apple devices:

• Your Own iCloud — Sync uses Apple’s CloudKit private database, which lives in your personal iCloud account
• We Have No Access — Your synced data is stored in your iCloud, not on any server of ours; we cannot see or retrieve it
• Off by Default — Sync is entirely optional and stays disabled until you turn it on
• Governed by Apple — Data stored in iCloud is handled under Apple’s Privacy Policy

Evergreen Sync is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store. Purchases and billing are handled entirely by Apple — we never receive or store your payment information. The base app is free and fully functional on a single device without a subscription.

Evergreen communicates over the network only for:

• iCloud Sync — Only when you enable Evergreen Sync, and only with Apple’s iCloud
• App Store — Updates and subscription management through the App Store

AI Integration and Data Access

Evergreen includes an optional MCP server that allows AI assistants (like Claude Desktop) to interact with your contacts database. This integration:

• Runs Locally — The MCP server operates entirely on your Mac
• Requires Explicit Setup — You must manually configure AI assistants to access your data
• Provides Full Control — You can disable or remove AI access at any time
• Logs All Changes — Every AI modification is recorded with attribution

Data Security

Your contact data is protected by:

• OS Security — Apple’s built-in file system encryption and access controls on macOS and iOS
• App Sandboxing — Evergreen runs in a secure sandbox environment
• Local-First Storage — With sync off, your data stays on your device; with sync on, it is protected in transit and at rest by Apple’s iCloud
• Device Encryption — Your local database is encrypted when FileVault (Mac) or device passcode encryption (iPhone/iPad) is enabled

Your Rights and Control

You have absolute control over your data:

• Access — View all your data at any time within the app
• Export — Export your complete SQLite database or contacts in standard formats
• Backup — Manually copy your database file to any backup location
• Deletion — Delete individual contacts or your entire database
• Portability — Move your SQLite database to other applications

International Users

Evergreen’s local-first design means that data protection regulations are inherently satisfied:

• GDPR Compliance — No personal data is processed, transmitted to, or stored by us
• CCPA Compliance — No personal information is collected or sold
• Data Location — Your data stays on your device, or — if you enable sync — in your own iCloud account, never on our infrastructure

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date and communicated through App Store update notes if material changes occur.
